On February 11 the Young Engaged Lodge Leaders (YELL!) of Lodge 108 had their first ever annual meeting. At the meeting we started with a roll call of all the members joining the newly introduced group. After the members were counted and the meeting was called to order, the Youth Activities Director of wfla Kelsey Wegner talked us through the main purposes of the group. The group
was formed to promote the idea of Fraternalism within the community. YELL!'s purpose is to volunteer our time and talents to worthy causes, serve our community and fulfill its needs, connect with other members of wfla and contribute to make a difference in our community. Our purpose kept us motivated to keep this group going and make it strong. We went over Robert's Rules of Order so we can learn how to run our own meetings and become an independent youth group. During the meeting, we also reviewed the charter and bylaws for the group. Also we had to decide the officers of our group. The group nominated, voted, and elected five officers for the YELL!. After the votes were counted and totaled up, the officers were installed into the group officially. The officers are as follows: President Amanda Tilot, Vice President Liz Kolarik, Secretary Lindsey Bosetski, Treasurer - Kristin Pribyl and Chairman - Courtney Stienberger. After the meeting part of our gathering was adjourned, we started our first official business. We decorated heart shaped cookies for Valentine’s Day. On February 14 after school, the group took the cookies and delivered them to three places, the three Bears Day Care Center, the Harmony House, and the Red Cross. We thought we could make their Valentine’s Day a little brighter. It feels good to help out the community and we are always looking for new members. As the group grows so will our purpose and as our purpose grows we can truly start to make a difference in our community. Lindsey Bosetski, Secretary Our group was also highlighted in the March edition of the Fraternal Herald. You can see the article on page 5 www.wflains.org/images/FlipBook/index.html
