After the Booyah party, several members from YELL gathered together to cut tags/labels off of the donated Boyd's Bears. They spent several hours unpacking, cutting, organizing and repackaging the bears for the lodge to donate. Shout out to Alaina Thompson, Allison Kornelly, Liz Beckers, Emily Simons and Celia Kolarik for their great work!
We had a small group this year to help clean up Maribel Caves County Park. Nevertheless, we still managed to clear several sections of the park of garlic mustard. The local Boy Scout troop attended to lend a hand and then we got to explore the caves after lunch. Always a rewarding day!
The kids helped out with a couple of Brat Fry events this year - the money raised goes towards lodge scholarships. Thanks to Allison Kornelly, Hannah Levy and Celia Kolarik for helping out!
Let the competition begin! We always have a great time bowling in our multi-lodge event. This year was no exception. The kids love to compete against the lodge members for best score. Thanks to all those who showed up for this great cause!
The kids always have a good time helping the veterans and they feel very rewarded/tired after a busy morning. Thanks to Addison Groehler, Mikayla Schlicting, Rheannan Linssen, Celia Kolarik and Kaitlyn Knuth for showing up to help these great guys in their fundraising efforts!
We had a great time tonight decorating cookies for the local daycare, nursing home and Red Cross. Over 200 cookies were baked in the morning and decorated in the evening. Naturally the frosting was not exclusively on the cookies - another great event!
The Lodge annual Christmas Party was held on a lovely Sunday at the Coop in Denmark. The kids once again had fun painting faces on the youth that were in attendance. Excellent entertainment was provided by Santa and a magician. The lodge also collected toys for the local Community.
Members of the group came over to work on making cards and signing them for Holiday for Heroes. They cut out papers and created over 200 cards for veterans and other service members. Once they were signed, we put them in the envelopes and dropped them off at the Red Cross for a good cause - thank you to all our service personnel for all you do!
A great turnout for a great cause! We had our first meeting of the year while completing a service project. We decided that we would meet every second Saturday of the month to complete projects as it is difficult to get everyone together during the week. An updated list of upcoming events is posted on the website as well as printed off for members. After the meeting (pizza and bagged milk) we proceeded to cut out and tie 20 fleece blankets for cancer patients. Thank you to Lodge 108 for donating the materials. Those attending were Elena (foreign exchange student), Emily Simmons, Ashley Laabs, Celia Kolarik, Sam Halada, Aly Rish, Dani Delebreau, Karli Pennings and Kaitlyn Knuth for all the great work - can't wait to see all the great things that are done this year!
