This activity was a fundraiser for the addition of storage space to the Denmark Veteran’s Shelter that supports the Denmark/Maribel Community Cupboard. Besides basketball, there was plenty of food , a silent auction, and jersey sales. The Ambassors are styled like the Globetrotters but on a smaller scale. One of our lodge's biggest events of the year is the annual Booyah picnic. It starts on Saturday morning as the lodge members gather at the Coop. Most of the group stays behind and cuts up the veggies while another group heads over to Hwy 96 to do the Adopt-a-Highway cleanup. A small lunch is provided before the members head back home.
Sunday morning starts at 4 am for the Booyah chefs as they get the fire started. The party starts at noon and the YELL group arrives a little late as they are all a little bit tired from the Homecoming events the night before. They quickly get organized and start painting faces and applying the tattoos to the kids. In order to perfect their painting techniques, they decided to practice on each other We took the opportunity on Saturday to put the brown paint onto the pillars.
